Our Story

Our journey started in the stillness of early mornings, wading through marshes with a Labrador by our side. For years, duck hunting wasn't just a tradition—it was a way of life. And always, there was a Lab with us: loyal, driven, and ready for anything. These dogs weren’t just hunting partners—they were family.

Over time, that bond grew into something deeper. We realized our connection to these dogs went far beyond the field. Their grit, heart, and unwavering loyalty made us want to give back—especially to the ones who need a little extra patience, understanding, and care.

What began as a love for the hunt became a calling.

Today, we want to dedicate ourselves to dogs that may take more time, more heart, and more healing. Whether it’s building trust, training at their own pace, or simply providing a safe space to thrive, our mission is to honor the legacy of the Labs who stood beside us all those years—by standing beside the ones who need it most.

It all began with Bonnie Mae—a sweet Lab no one wanted. With her charming underbite and a past that left her carrying fears, Bonnie faced an uncertain future. Would she ever do the things other Labs do? Would anyone look past her quirks?

The answer: absolutely.

Bonnie is a survivor. A fighter. A heart full of love. Some of her behaviors stem from trauma and PTSD, but with patience, affirmation, plenty of love, and a whole lot of snacks, she’s blossoming more every day.

Her underbite doesn’t hold her back—it’s part of what makes her special. And now, she’s proving that she can not only keep up with the best of them… she can shine even brighter.

This is a forever bond—one built on trust, second chances, and hope. Through Bonnie’s story, we want to inspire others to look past the surface and see the beauty in every dog.
